Kinve Maker - Ted Miller

Cherokee Knife Maker, Ted Miller is an American Indian Artisan, of Miami-Peoria-Cherokee heritage. He has won over fifty significant awards. He carves images of his heritage and culture from stories passed down through his ancestors. Ted makes the handles for his knives from natural shed Deer and Elk Antler enhanced with semiprecious stones such as turquoise, coral, and onyx. Black handles are made from Buffalo horn. The blades for the knives are shaped individually from 440 C stainless steel, 56-60 Rockwell, and acid etched designs are worked on the larger blades . Stands shown are included in the price.

All of Miller's knives are carefully shaped and balanced for the perfect grip as well as artistic elegance. Scrimshawed on both sides of the buffalo horn handle which is 4" in diameter and 6" long, the blade is 1-1/2" wide by 5-1/8" long, Overall length is 11-1/8" and comes with a small forked antler stand, positioned on the stand it is 13" high, 7-1/8" long and 5-1/8" wide.  The blade of this knife is signed by the artist and numbered as Special #709. This is a handcrafted Native American made knife for the discriminating collector.

We are saddened to say that Ted is no longer with us, he passed on December 19, 2008. I know we will miss him as will those of you who collect his work.
